Walls

2019 This series was made by the children of the Sisonke Social Circus in South Africa. Every day, they face the challenges of crossing the social and physical walls between different social, economic and cultural groups. Together, they try to break the walls in circus practice. I asked them to show me their lifeworld through pictures, to show me how circus weaves through their daily lives. These are the pictures and titles they've shown me. These pictures have been part of the research for the film 'The Juggler' (see 'film').
