I'm a visual anthropologist, documentary filmmaker and photographer with a great love for people and their stories. Film and photography have always been a big interest of mine. Looking at the world through a lens reveals beautiful things; it functions as a mode of reflection on my position in the whirl of life and on the societal issues that move me.
Light has guided me throughout all my image-making. light that highlights beauty, a soft approach to our everyday lives. beauty that can calm, confront and move us. my work centers around intimacy, societal and psychological theme's and light.
For my studies, I've attended the Visual Anthropology programs at the University of Amsterdam and Goldsmith's College in London. I focused mostly on embodiment, healing and creative arts. Since then, I've been making documentaries and photographs, for, amongst others, the Netherlands public broadcasting and the government of the Netherlands, and participated in several photography exhibitions.
